One of the major events in the Christian doctrine that many followers are looking out for is known as the Rapture which is mentioned in the book of Revelations. The Rapture is also known as the Second Coming and is the event in which Jesus returns to earth to get all his followers and finally defeat the devil. Of course, one would wonder what the signs are of this event.
One of the most commonly talked about signs of the rapture would be the emergence of the four horsemen. These four horsemen happen to be war, famine, pestilence, and death. War would be the presence of a possible World War iii, famine would be a food shortage, pestilence would represent the sicknesses of earth, and death represents the destruction of mankind.
The horsemen are metaphors for the calamities that would befall the earth before the end of days. War would most likely signify a World War III which will be even more dangerous since chemical warfare is now available. Famine would refer to the shortage of food and resources of the earth, pestilence would refer to the various diseases being spread, and death would be the inevitable extinction of mankind.
Aside from the four horsemen, the presence of Elijah would also mean something. According to Christ himself, Elijah would come back and restore Christianity before the rapture. Christians actually regard Herbert W Armstrong as the Elijah so this sign has already came true.
Another sign, which was mentioned in the book of Matthew twenty four wherein the gospel of God will be preached on to the whole world, signalling the return of Christ. Now, many Christians consider the existence of Christianity as one of the signs of the rapture because Christianity is one of the biggest religions worldwide. In fact, it has already existed for over two thousand years.
Aside from being probably the biggest religion in the Western world, it is also one of the oldest being over two thousand years old. The missionaries have been spreading the Word for decades converting a lot of people which is why Christians believe that this sign is fulfilled. However, as part of that sign, the prophecy of a false prophet emerging was also stated so it is important to take note of fake doctrines spreading as well.
Finally, there is the prediction of a very evil person who will try to unify the world under his or her influence. This is actually the Antichrist and is the tool of Satan to finally take control of the world. While there are many who may potentially be the Antichrist, doctrines state that he or she is already here and already climbing.
Because of his or her influence, there will be an extremely big fallout of Christianity which will make many people turn away from God. This would enhance the army of Satan which will be used to fight against Jesus. When this will all happen though, no one knows but believers are all prepared for when the Savior finally comes back.
