While the cannabidiol pharmaceutical Epidiolex has been approved by the United States FDA for treating epilepsy, confusion still remains over the legality of other CBD products. For, there can also be side effects depending on the length of consumption and potency of the product. These side effects may include fatigue, a decreased appetite, sleeping problems, malaise, weakness and diarrhea.
The United States FDA has provided Epidiolex a Schedule V rating, while non-Epiodiolex CBD still remains a Schedule I drug. With this being the case, CBDs remain prohibited in a number of areas in the United States. Regardless, a number of head shops and stores continue to stock, shelve and sell these products.
While there are only a few side effects with regards to CBDs, the potential of drug interaction still exist. As such, it is important to review information related to any drug whether prescription or over the counter which may have a negative interaction with CBD. In most cases, these are going to include those of a narcotic nature, which in some cases could lead to severe drowsiness or disorientation.
