Melodies are a form of praise to God. Thus they are professed to be gifts given to Christians to be used to praising God. Melodies are thus one of the most important elements when it comes to the spiritual programs. This is because they are viewed as a communication avenue with God. Usually, youths tend to identify themselves with a culture that is contemporary to youth lifestyle thus they end up singing songs with idiomatic elements which may cause rhythmical issues. They thus differ with the principles set by the church.
Although there are traditional songs like folk songs that are respected and legitimate, only a few of them are acceptable by the house of God. More so, the ones that have been accepted have to be handled with principles like the other songs. On top of that, during singing, any form of voice distortion is not acceptable hence it is supposed to be avoided.
More so, harmonic treatment of the instruments must be smooth and soothing. Therefore, if it is saturated, it may lead to distractions and alter the quality of the songs thus the spirituality will also be affected. Singers are supposed to be decently dressed, and while singing, they should not use visual cues that are excessive. Excessive musical amplification is also not allowed.
