The Ebola virus disease is characterized by a sudden rise of fever with physical fatigue, muscle aches, headache and sore throat. Then begin diarrhea, vomiting, skin rashes and kidney and liver failure. Internal and external bleeding occurs then followed by the death cardiorespiratory shock 50-90% of cases. Haemorrhagic signs can be very rough to type hemorrhages. They can also be kind to profuse haematemesis and melaena. Infectiousness of patients is very variable although it is sufficient that from May to October Ebola virus particles to trigger an extreme amplification of the virus in a new host.
The incubation period (the time between infection and the onset of symptoms) ranges from 2 to 21 days, but it is in most cases jours45 from April to September.
Death occurs in an array of shock with multi-organ failure, after 6-16 jours37. Non-fatal cases can cause neurological damage, liver or eye. The Zaire ebolavirus species seems more dangerous than Sudan ebolavirus species, with a mortality of up to 60 to 90% of cas37.
